#SHADOW ERA BALOR FREE#
Onyzix seeks to one day break free of their bondage within the Shadowfell, return to the Endless Maze of the Abyss, and enact vengeance upon Baphomet. Onyzix’s power grew so that they can, at times, reach outside of the Shadowfell and lure mortal creatures of the Prime Material Plane to make pacts with them, granting them a portion of power as their patron. Lesser demons of shadow and various creatures of the Underdark soon kneeled before them. The lesser balor’s weapon attacks are magical. The lesser balor has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects. As Onyzix grew more capable and comfortable with the necrotic power, creatures of shadow were drawn to their service. A creature that touches the lesser balor or hits it with a melee attack while within 5 feet of it takes 10 (3d6) fire damage. Their ability to wield flame had vanished and was replaced with the necrotic energy of the Shadowfell. The Demon Lord crushed and captured Onyzix, laughing at the failed coup.īaphomet proclaimed to Onyzix, “You will never be more than a faint shadow of my might, and shadow you will become!” With that, Baphomet removed Onyzix’s sense of direction and banished them deep into the Shadowfell’s Underdark, binding them within the endless, twisting passages for eternity.Īs time passed in the Shadowfell, Onyzix’s form took on a shadowy appearance. Onyzix’s plan failed as Baphomet’s control of the Endless Maze proved too dominant.
Onyzix was a General in the service of Baphomet, but grew haughty and made an attempt to use their command over legions of demons to overthrow the Prince of Beasts and become ruler of the Endless Maze. Shadow Balor: A balor demon that has remained in the Shadowfell for enough time that it has transformed into a shadowy version of its former self. I have named this particular Shadow Balor Onyzix and have written a short intro into how they became this way: I altred the Balor image in the MM and used the Shadow Dragon as a sort of template to alter the stats of the Balor. I was impressed with Dennis Weaver in Shadow Play, and I have been. I created a Shadow Balor to be his patron. if Thomas could recommend a good Chester episode of Gunsmoke to watch. One of my PCs is a Warlock with a fiend Patron.
